Today

The temperature was 27.

The sky was blue.

I bought paper-thin bright-as-summer poppies.

I ate little sweet-as-jam figs from Lakemba.

I spoke words of a new language.

There is a lunar eclipse blood moon right now.

I LOVE the poppies! And I've been craving figs this week -- actually ever since I had them on vacation with some prosciutto ham; I have GOT to try to get my hands on some at the market this weekend... Although I'm sure they're going to cost me a fortune.

Figs are very expensive here too, though sometimes I buy myself just one - it may be the same price as a chocolate bar but I know what I'd rather have...

Oh, I bought a little basket of them at the market on Saturday! They weren't as expensive as I had expected (I guess they must be in season here right now...), and they were nice as hors d'oeuvres with the prosciutto ham. I added a grape at the end of each little toothpick, and it was perfection. What is it about figs?!
